Perceived Freedom

  1. Visually you are perfectly right.
The idea though is that there is a huge gap between the perception of our freedom (or what we are induced to believe) and the actual limits to such freedom. When we were kids riding our bicycles we believed to be entirely free, but the truth was that we were not free at all. If you scale this up to a political level and throw in also an undemocratic regime the equation gets quite complicated.
